Coeliac Friendly - Dark Chocolate Mini Snickers
Hello, foodies! We have a fantastic treat for you today, especially for our friends living with coeliac disease. We've concocted a fabulous recipe for Dark Chocolate Mini Snickers that's not just delicious, but also gluten-free. We've used our signature dark chocolate, Proper Nutty peanut butter, roasted peanuts, and medjool dates to whip up this delicious dessert that's sure to satisfy your sweet tooth!

  1. Melt the dark chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second increments, stirring after each until smooth.
  2. Cut each date in half and remove the stones
  3. Spread a teaspoon of peanut butter on each of the dates split side
  4. Place 3 roasted peanuts on top of the spread and sandwich together
  5. When the chocolate has melted, dip the date, peanut mixture in the chocolate so that it coats it fully and then place on a silicon mat, or a drying rack (but they will stick a little with that)
  6. Pop the silicon mat with all the chocolate coated dates, in the freezer for half an hour and then bring out to be in the fridge
  7. Once frozen and solid you can enjoy to your hearts content, and know that there are no unnecessary ingredients to give you a little bite of happiness and the perfect snack!
Mind-Body Benefits

This snack is much more than just a treat for your tastebuds. Consuming dark chocolate can improve brain function and has powerful health benefits due to its antioxidant content. Peanut butter, aside from being high in protein, also contains healthy fats and can help manage weight. Roasted peanuts have similar benefits and are also rich in vitamins and minerals. Medjool dates are high in fibre and natural sugars, providing instant energy and aiding digestion. This blend of ingredients creates a snack that is not only satisfying but also beneficial to your health!

  1. Can I use regular dates instead of Medjool dates? Medjool dates are larger and taste sweeter than regular dates, making them perfect for this recipe. However, if you cannot find them, regular dates can be used as a substitute.
  2. What can I use as a substitute for peanut butter if I'm allergic to peanuts? You can use almond butter or sunflower seed butter as a great alternative.
  3. How long can I store these mini Snickers? They can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week.
  4. Can I use milk chocolate instead of dark chocolate? Yes, you can, but it will alter the taste and nutritional value of the snack.
  5. Are these mini snickers vegan? Yes, as long as the dark chocolate you use is vegan, these mini snickers are vegan-friendly
So there you have it, folks! A scrumptious, health-conscious, coeliac-friendly snack that's easy to make and delightful to eat. Give it a try and let us know what you think!
