Protein Yoghurt Snickers "Marathons"

The Bite-Sized Boost for Mind & Body
Okay, confession time: I promised a bi-weekly recipe drop, but when inspiration (and a heatwave) hits, I just can't help myself. So, consider this a “bonus round” for all you snack lovers and wellbeing warriors.
Today’s creation? A cross between those nostalgic Snickers ice cream bars and your favourite chewy fruit snack. Except these little bites pack a serious nutritional punch and won’t leave you with a sugar crash. Just remember: keep them in the freezer, or the UK’s rare appearance of sunshine will turn them into the world’s stickiest finger food.
Why Protein? Why Now?
If you haven’t noticed, protein is everywhere these days, and for good reason. It’s not just for gym buffs or marathoners. Protein is the backbone of our bodies: it repairs tissues, helps build lean muscle, and keeps us feeling full and energised. But here’s where it gets really interesting: protein also supports neurotransmitter production, meaning it can literally help you think more clearly, stabilise your mood, and even fend off those 3pm slumps. When you combine protein with slow-release carbs and healthy fats, you get snacks that fuel both your body and brain.
The Power of Dark Chocolate (Especially Ours)
Now, let’s talk about the real star, dark chocolate. Not all chocolate is created equal. Our 80Noir Ultra dark chocolate isn’t just a treat; it’s loaded with antioxidants, magnesium, and polyphenols that help reduce inflammation, protect your heart, and even boost cognitive function. Plus, dark chocolate encourages the release of endorphins (the “feel good” hormones) and can naturally lower stress. So yes, you can have your chocolate and eat it too, guilt-free.
I’ve been working with folks looking to reduce inflammation, manage arthritic pain, and heal everything from hiatal hernias to low energy—all through food. The best news? Dark chocolate makes the list of “foods that help, not hurt.”
Protein Yoghurt Snickers "Marathons" Recipe
- Prep Time: 10 mins
- Set Time: 3-5 hours (worth the wait)
- Servings: 12 bites
Ingredients:
- 1 cup thick Greek yoghurt
- 1/4 cup powdered protein peanut butter (or vanilla/chocolate protein powder)
- 3 tbsp smooth peanut butter
- 3-4 tbsp maple syrup
- About 10 dates, pitted and chopped
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Pinch of sea salt
Topping:
- Melted 80Noir Ultra dark chocolate & a touch of coconut oil (for topping)
- Chopped peanuts & flaky sea salt (for garnish)
Instructions:
- In a large bowl, mix all the yoghurt bite ingredients until silky smooth. Taste, add more maple or vanilla if you need a little extra sweetness. The dates? They give you that chewy, caramel-y surprise in every bite.
- Spoon the mixture into a mini muffin tin, filling each about 2/3 full.
- Melt your 80Noir Ultra dark chocolate with a little coconut oil in the microwave (30-second bursts, stirring in between). Drizzle on top of each bite. Sprinkle with chopped peanuts.
- Freeze for 2-3 hours until set. Once solid, finish with a touch of flaky sea salt. Pop them out and store in an airtight container in the freezer. If you’re lucky, they’ll last a week. (Realistically? Three days, tops.)
