How to get there: (its easier than you think!)

Hampstead tube station is less than 20 minutes from central London on the Edgware Branch of the Northern Line. The station is located in the heart of Hampstead Village, close to all the shops, restaurants and services on and around the High Street and a short stroll from the beautiful scenery of Hampstead Heath. If the Jubilee line is more convenient for you, get off at Swiss Cottage and take a fifteen minute walk up to the village via Fitzjohn’s Avenue.

Visitors can reach Hampstead Heath overground station on the North London Line (Richmond to Stratford). The overground station is situated on South End Road, a stone’s throw from the heath itself and less than ten minutes walk from Hampstead High Street, via Willow Road and Flask Walk, or via Downshire Hill.

The 46 bus stops at both Hampstead and Belsize Park tube stations. The 24 bus from Victoria via Trafalgar Square stops at The Royal Free Hospital on Fleet Road, just 5 minutes walk from the centre of Hampstead Village. The 268 runs from Finchley Road O2 centre into Hampstead Village. At night, the N5 provides an easy link between Hampstead and central London, running approximately every 15 minutes between midnight and 6am.

Hail a black cab or use your favourite taxi app and ask the driver to take you to Hampstead Tube Station for easy access to all the village’s shops, cafes and attractions. For further information, visit London’s official Black Cab site or try using the Hailo app on your phone or tablet.

Hampstead is fantastic for cycling - but you’ll need plenty of energy to take on the hills! There is bike friendly access to Hampstead via the London Overground to Hampstead Heath station, and the heath itself welcomes cyclists on designated cycle routes. There are docking stations for Barclays Bikes in nearby Chalk Farm and St. John’s Wood. For information about cycling in London, visit Transport for London.

We recommend exploring the shopping streets and secret passageways of Hampstead Village on foot - and don’t forget to incorporate a brisk walk across the heath. If you intend to walk to Hampstead, take a look at citymapper or for the best routes to take.

There are several Pay & Display parking bays in Hampstead. These bays are reasonably priced and are free after 6pm and all day on Sundays. Resident bays are free to visitors after 8pm and all day on Sundays. In all cases please be careful to check any restrictions when you park. There are several websites to help you find parking: try: Parkopedia - Hampstead.
